Alpha Omicron Pi's

Core Values

Commitment to

Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Hi there!

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to check out Alpha Omicron Pi here at UBC! The Beta Kappa (BK) chapter is proud to have been recolonized in 2011 and has grown in size and membership ever since. Although we are the newest Panhellenic sorority on campus, our chapter is filled with love and friendship that I know will stand the test of time. The BK chapter emphasizes the four main virtues of the object of our fraternity; character, dignity, scholarship and college loyalty.

Here at UBC, you can find our sisters all over campus, from the library studying, to the rec centre participating in intramurals, to many of the coffee shops on campus grabbing a drink and having a quick chat with our sisters. Many of our sisters are involved in leadership volunteer activities ranging from participating in Miss Canada pageants, organizing community outreach programs, and assisting in medical research. Here at BK chapter we also give back to the UBC community by being involved in many programs such as CELC (Centre for Community Engaged Learning) or being orientation leaders.

Diverse and accepting are two words in which our members frequently describe our chapter as. As an AOII community, we are very tight knit and accept all members no matter the faculty they are from or country they come from. We continuously support each other with the utmost respect and love. When any of us fall, we have 99 girls there to pick us up. AOII has become an integral part of my life and I am so happy that I found it. Take a moment to explore our website and all that AOII BK has to offer you! Cannot wait to meet you at the next recruitment event.

Alpha Love and Mine,

Mackenzie Bruins
